Jerith Driveway & Pavers: The San Diego Owner’s Guide
If your Jerith driveway or paver section has failed, we stock Jerith-compatible replacement parts in San Diego and can usually match your existing model on the first visit. Typical installed pricing for driveway and paver repairs in San Diego runs $4,130 to $21,240 depending on scope, with most minor section replacements falling between $4,130 and $8,260. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a gate post shifts and drags against the pavers, a corner paver cracks and sinks after winter rain, or an aluminum post finally gives out after years of salt air near the coast.
We’re an independent San Diego service provider, not a Jerith dealer or affiliate, which means we’re free to source the right part at the right price without brand markup. If you’ve got a Jerith driveway gate, paver apron, or fenced driveway border that’s failing, the first step is matching the part to your exact model. That’s what the rest of this page covers.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith’s residential aluminum fence and driveway product lines share a lot of DNA across model families, but not everything swaps cleanly. The key compatibility factor is post size. Jerith’s driveway gate systems typically use 2-inch or 2.5-inch square aluminum posts, and the hinge hardware, gate brackets, and paver-mount base plates are sized to match. You can identify your post size with a tape measure across the flat face of the post. The model number is stamped on a label inside the gate frame near the bottom rail, or on the underside of the top cap on some lines.
The critical gotcha: Jerith’s residential and commercial lines look similar, but hinge offsets and gate frame channel widths differ. A residential post hinge will not seat correctly on a commercial gate frame, even if the bolt holes line up. If you’re replacing a paver-mount base plate that was set in concrete, you’ll also want to check the bolt pattern, since Jerith changed base plate layouts on some models around 2018. When an OEM Jerith part is available, we’ll price it. When lead time or price makes it a poor choice, we’ll offer a quality aftermarket equivalent with the same gauge and coating spec, and we’ll show you both numbers before any work starts. That’s just how we do estimates in San Diego.

Signs Your Jerith Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Gate drags or scrapes the pavers on opening. This usually means the hinge post has settled or corroded at the paver line. The weight of the gate shifts, and the bottom rail starts eating into the paver surface.
- Cracked or sunken pavers near the gate post. Water from San Diego’s winter rains works under the paver base, and the constant gate cycling pumps water deeper. The paver edge near the post is usually the first to crack.
- Rust staining at the post base or hinge. Aluminum doesn’t rust, but the steel hardware inside Jerith’s hinge assemblies does, especially within a few miles of the coast. The stain runs onto the pavers and the post face.
- Loose or wobbling gate post. The base plate anchors inside the pavers or concrete have lost their grip, or the concrete footer has cracked. Every cycle of the gate makes it worse.
- Paver border separating from the driveway slab. The edge restraint fails or washout undermines the sand bed, and the Jerith border pavers drift outward, leaving a gap that traps water and debris.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Jerith-specific driveway and paver work in San Diego, replacement pricing breaks into three tiers:
- Post and hardware replacement with paver reset: $4,130 – $8,260
- Section replacement including multiple posts and paver relaying: $8,260 – $12,980
- Full driveway paver replacement with new edge restraint and base work: $12,980 – $21,240
What drives the range in San Diego is access, base condition, and whether the existing pavers are salvageable. If the gate post footer needs re-pouring, that adds materials and a day of cure time. Every quote we give is a written line-item price before any work starts. No verbal estimates that grow on the final bill. The workmanship warranty is spelled out in writing, and it’s covered under the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work is not right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect a few things yourself: look for visible cracks in the pavers, check whether the gate post moves when you push on it, and note whether the hinges show rust at the post. What you should not attempt is pulling or resetting a loaded gate post. The gate is under tension at the hinges, and a post that gives way can drop a two-hundred-pound aluminum gate on you or a family member. We see homeowners in San Diego try this every year, and it’s the one repair where the savings are never worth the hospital bill. If the post is wobbling or the gate is dragging, call (619) 673-9302 and we’ll come out, match the part, and give you a written price.
FAQs

A properly installed Jerith driveway gate system in San Diego typically lasts 15 to 25 years, but coastal salt air can cut hinge hardware life to 10 years or less within five miles of the water. The aluminum posts and gate frames hold up, the steel hinge internals do not. Call (619) 673-9302 if you’re seeing rust bleed or wobble.
A single cracked paver can sometimes be lifted and reset if it’s still structurally sound and the base underneath is stable. Once the base has washed out, which is common in San Diego after winter rain, the paver will crack again unless the base is rebuilt. We’ll tell you which situation you have before you spend a dollar.
Most single-post replacements with paver resetting are done in one day, including hauling the old base material and setting the new one. If we have to re-pour a concrete footer, the gate stays braced overnight and we finish the next day.
We stock the most common Jerith residential post sizes, hinge assemblies, and paver-mount base plates on our San Diego trucks, and we can source less common Jerith-compatible parts within a few days. We also carry replacement parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products on jobs where those are involved. Call (619) 673-9302 and we’ll tell you what’s in stock before we schedule the visit.
