Construction Before & After in San Diego, CA
Anyone can talk about craftsmanship. Seeing a sagging floor turned level, a dark bathroom opened up, or a dated kitchen finally matching how a San Diego family actually lives, well, that’s different. The projects below show real scenarios we work through across San Diego, with the problems homeowners brought us and what changed after the dust settled. Photos are on the way, but the stories are here now.

Clairemont Primary Bathroom: Cramped Galley to Open Shower Suite
Before
AfterThe homeowner had a 1980s galley bath with a shower stall so narrow you had to step in sideways. We removed a non-load-bearing wall that boxed in the toilet, relocated plumbing for a 60-inch walk-in shower, and installed a Schluter strip, the metal trim that seals the edge where tile meets flooring, so the transition stays clean and waterproof. The bathroom now feels twice its original size without adding a square foot.
North Park Kitchen: Load-Bearing Wall Removal and Open Concept Floor Plan
Before
AfterThis 1950s North Park home had a kitchen walled off from the living room, which made the whole first floor feel smaller than it was. We engineered a flush beam to carry the load, removed the wall, and rebuilt the kitchen with KraftMaid cabinetry and Cambria quartz counters along a single working wall. The result is a continuous sightline from the front door to the back patio, which is exactly what the homeowner wanted when they bought the place.
Mission Hills Whole-Home Refresh: Three Rooms, One Written Price
Before
AfterThe scope here covered a guest bath, a laundry alcove, and a hallway that had three different floor heights. We wrote the price for all three before a single tool came off the truck, then leveled the flooring transitions, moved the washer and dryer hookups, and replaced a fiberglass tub with a Kohler cast iron model. Hallway floors in Mission Hills homes from this era are often out of level by a half inch or more, and we corrected that as part of the same project.
La Jolla Bathroom Replacement: Failed Shower Pan Repaired and Retiled

The original shower pan in this La Jolla condo had cracked, and water had been seeping into the subfloor for months before the homeowner noticed the baseboards swelling. We pulled the old pan, dried and repaired the framing, installed a new waterproof membrane, and retiled the shower with Moen fixtures and a linear drain. Every project like this gets our written guarantee stating coverage terms plainly, including what’s covered, what’s excluded, and for how long: 365 days from the completion date.
University Heights Kitchen: Galley Reconfigured for a Working Triangle

This University Heights kitchen had the refrigerator against one wall, the sink on another, and the range wedged in a corner, so cooking meant walking laps. We moved the range to the center wall, added a Silestone peninsula for prep space, and rebuilt the sink base with Toto fixtures. The homeowner told us afterward the first dinner she cooked took half as long, simply because she wasn’t backtracking across the room.
Pacific Beach Bathroom Remodel: Jacuzzi Tub Removed and Replaced with Walk-In Shower

Pacific Beach homes built in the early 2000s often have oversized jetted tubs that rarely get used, and this one was no exception. The homeowners wanted the tub gone and a shower they could actually use daily. We removed the tub, reframed the alcove, installed a Grohe thermostatic valve, and tiled the new shower floor with a linear drain. The jetted tub removal also opened up enough square footage to add a linen cabinet where there hadn’t been one before.
