Meet the San Diego Team Behind Mason Remodeling Co San Diego
When you hire a remodeling crew, you are inviting strangers to live inside your home for weeks. That reality drives everything we do, and it’s why every person we send into a San Diego house has been background-checked, identity-verified, and trained to the same Threshold Standard before they ever ring a doorbell. Most of our crew has worked together for years, which means the person measuring your bathroom is the same person who’ll be setting tile in it. No subcontractor roulette. No temp labor you’ve never heard of. Just a small, steady team that knows San Diego homes and knows each other.

Our People

Marcus Delgado, Lead Technician
Marcus has been setting tile and framing walls in San Diego for 18 years, the last nine of them with us. He’s the guy who walks a job first, finds the crooked stud or the out-of-level floor the previous contractor hid, and tells you what it’ll take to make it right before any demo starts. Marcus holds a California general contractor’s license and specializes in wet-area construction: shower pans, waterproofing systems, and the Schluter strips (the metal trim that seals the edge where tile meets flooring) that keep a bathroom from leaking into the room below it. He grew up in Chula Vista and still complains about the traffic on the 805 every single morning, which the rest of the crew finds hilarious.
Denise Okafor, Senior Installer
Denise is our finish-work specialist, the person who makes the last 5% of a project look like the first 95% took twice as long. She’s been installing custom cabinetry, crown molding, and built-in shelving for 14 years, and she’s certified in KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinet installation, which means she knows exactly how those lines are engineered to fit and where installers typically cut corners. Her specialty is the reveal: the consistent, even gap between cabinet doors and drawer fronts that separates a high-end kitchen from one that looks fine from across the room but wrong up close. Denise is the reason our punch lists in San Diego are short. She’s also the crew’s unofficial coffee authority and will absolutely judge your drip setup if you invite her opinion.
Tomás Rivera, Service Coordinator
Tomás is the voice on the phone and the person who makes sure the right material shows up on the right day in the right San Diego neighborhood, whether that’s a vanity for Mission Hills or a tile order for Clairemont. He’s been coordinating residential remodels for 11 years and spent five of those running his own small handyman business, so he understands both sides of the scheduling conversation. Tomás is fluent in Spanish and English, which helps when we’re coordinating deliveries or walking a homeowner through an invoice. He’s also the one who emails you the written price before work begins, and he’ll explain every line item in plain language if something isn’t clear. Tomás has a rescue greyhound named Pancho who shows up in the office on Fridays.
Jasmine Whitfield, Apprentice Installer
Jasmine joined us two years ago after completing a pre-apprenticeship program at a San Diego trade school, and she’s been working under Marcus on bathroom and kitchen projects ever since. She’s already earned her OSHA 10 certification and is on track to test for her journeyman card next year. Jasmine runs a lot of our demolition and prep work, and she’s developed a reputation for cleanup that borders on obsessive, which every homeowner appreciates and every lead technician quietly respects. On weekends she restores vintage furniture in her garage in Normal Heights, which means she understands wood grain and finish better than most people twice her age.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this page works under the same set of rules, and those rules are not optional. When we say a written price arrives before any work starts, we mean on your project and on every other project we’re running that week. When Marcus, Denise, Tomás, or Jasmine pulls onto a jobsite, they arrive in a clean marked uniform, show a photo ID badge at the door, and have already been introduced to you by name and photo before the visit. The crew runs on The Threshold Standard because that’s how you get repeat business in a city where word travels fast and a bad remodel gets discussed at every block party from Ocean Beach to Rancho Bernardo. If anything on your project does not hold up within 365 days of completion, we return and fix it at no charge. Not because it’s good marketing. Because Isaac Pruett, Owner, built Mason Remodeling Co San Diego in 2004 on the idea that the same crew you welcome in should be the crew that stands behind the work for a full year after they leave.
